Apples and Lindsay
It feels like the whole of Washington is ripe right now. There's fruit everywhere, and the wildlife is loving it.
This tree lives in a p-patch, which is like an informal community allotment that neighbours set up on spare bits of ground. Being in the lovely Madrona Park area, this one was a fine specimen, with all sorts of fruit and veg ready for picking. The tree was planted by Ann, a friend of Lindsay's aunt. She said the apples - spartans, she thinks - weren't right for apple sauce, so we were welcome to pick as many as we liked.
