Sheepshead Motorway

This is what I see on my journey to work - tough isn't it!!! I didn't pass another car for all 8 miles of the journey. However - it is dangerous!! The view is so stunning it is very easy to become distracted and this morning something amazing was happening. There seemed to be two layers of rays issuing out of huge clouds casting fantastic shapes and shadows. Of course the camera was about me, so I had to stop several times, leap out of the car and risk life and limb at the edge of the (very narrow) road. When I stopped here I disturbed a heron and a curlew and attracted the attention of these two swans.
All this lovely calm and tranquility rudely comes to a halt as school is reached. How can those two small people, my special charges, romp through all those carefully prepared activities in 10 minutes -its meant to last 45!! And how does such a small amount of paint manage to distribute itself all over them rather than on the paper?? I'm not sure I'm cut out for infants!
Useful afternoon cleaning the kitchen - had to be done, the spiders were knee deep.
