First casualty
With regret, I have spotted the first casualty of our new kitchen electrics - a fly that flew too close to the bright light.
I've had a very productive day. Having tradesmen at home makes me stay at the computer for hours - so no dilly-dallying to the post office or the shop or the cemetery for a walk. I've managed to do a day-and-a-half at my desk, which is nice. I also have a waterproofed parapet wall that I supervised with tea application. As soon as the builder had finished, the heavens opened and no water has come through. Hurrah!
Another good result - the copper tape that I applied on Friday (with much shredding of skin on the fingers) around the guinea pig eglu seems to have worked. I've just gone out with some sweetcorn treats and there are no slugs in the cosy nest. Although, there are plenty just outside looking huffy and hungry, but they just don't want to go near that copper. I can't feel too sorry for them, though.
