this was just before the moment when we nearly got stuck in the national park by ourselves overnight
but we didn't
we saw Vic Falls which were absolutely amazing and gloriously full of water
we walked across the bridge to Zimbabwe
and drove ourselves round the Livingstone National Park
first turning, we found ourselves bonnet to bum with a giraffe
bagged zebra, warthogs, water buffaloes, monkeys and a fabulous group of 15 elephants who marched straight across the road in front of us
in the absence of road signs, i kept an eye on the direction of the setting sun and thought that i'd successfully navigated us back towards the gate before dusk when we slid right through a huge muddy puddle only to face another right in front.
i felt decidedly panicked so rammed my sister's car through a bush and half the puddle to drag us safely out
next stop, the bar
the first beer didn't even touch the sides
