Soup

Today's the day ....................... to eat something hot

It could just be because we have returned to the frozen north after the warmth of Cornwall, but I have really felt the cold today. Inspite of the fact that Amalari says that summer doesn't end officially until 23rd September - today I had to have some hot soup at lunchtime.

I'd made the soup a few months ago after we had been for a lovely walk and gathered a few handfuls of wild garlic leaves. Lovely memories of summer there - and the bread was freshly baked by Will first thing this morning, long before I was up.

Yes, there definitely are some compensations to be had with the arrival of the more autumnal weather ............
