Enza Cucina Siciliana
This joyful Sicilian Restaurant was where we had the most delicious meal in an atmosphere of joy an love. Smiles abounded here and we were greeted by the woman who makes it all so possible!!! She was so warm and friendly saying "Ciao Ciao" to us as we entered and immediately we knew the right choice as to where to dine was right. We'd never been here before but we will definitely be making the trek back. We shared two dishes and loved them both. Mine was a spaghetti with meatballs and Big R's a couscous with fresh veggies and organic chicken---we loved them both;) Here's a bit more info on the woman who makes i all possible:
Mamma Enza was born and raised in Sicily. Her passion for cooking began when she was seven years old, watching her grandmother prepare large meals for the farmers who worked in the family's vineyards. At the age of 30, she left her 9-to-5 job to start catering and managing restaurants full time. Enza moved to Seattle in 2002 and quickly became well known in the Italian restaurant community: she was the original chef at la Vita e Bella, Mondello Ristorante, and la Mondellina (where she teaches twice-weekly cooking classes that have attracted the owners of Pagliacci and DeLaurenti).
She has cooked for the owner of Via Tribunali and created the sole non-pizza item on the pizzeria's menu: an authentic Neapolitan lasagna. Along with Gelatiamo, Enza Sorrentino's Enza is one of only two food establishments in Seattle that are owned and operated by first-generation Italian women.
