Lepus townsendii
This is the White-Tailed Jackrabbit, a relatively rare resident of the High Sierra. I stumbled upon it hiking back into Vogelsang (the high camp at which I work) in the early evening. It didn't seem too concerned with me, unless I came within a certain distance of it. What a lovely creature. I liked how it looked when it peered through the flowers.
