Dib dib dib!

Dont be fooled by the smile on Smarts face! Although we had a lovely picnic, albeit on top of a manhole cover, during another 20k hike this was before map reader extraordinaire, Smarts to you and me, got us completely lost. We took a wrong path but didnt discover until an hour later that we had done so by which time it was too late to work out where we were or where we should have been! Poor Ellie who had arranged to meet us was getting a bit frantic as she couldnt come and rescue us cos we didnt know where we were other than lost in the middle of the forest!

In Smarts defence we were doing the route backwards so all the guide notes had to be turned around. It wa a great walk but I dont think Smarts would make a boy scout!

We finally got rescued by an Italian/American who happened by the forest track. I've never been so pleased to see anyone!
