St Michael and All Angels Church - Interior

In my journal (29th July 2010) there is a shot of the exterior of this church. Today, one of the national heritage open days in the UK, I had the opportunity to get a shot of the very grand interior.

I think St Michael's is pretty breathtaking! The grand triple decker pulpit on the left in the centre of the nave, rather than near to the altar. The boxed wooden pews, that each have their own little door, all face toward the pulpit rather than the altar. So, those closest to the altar, would have their backs to the altar!!!

As it's a wet day, we weren't able to climb to the top of the tower, to look out over the town, as we did last year.
