DIY Rage

Aside from this sweet little note Andy put up under the lining paper, this was a day of raging.

Having finally worked up the energy to tackle the woodchip in our spare room (now my home office), we were horrified to discover no less than 5 other layers of paper underneath. First the nasty old style woodchip that leaves bits of wood all over the wall, then some textured padded paper painted pink, then three layers of seriously retro paper circa 1950.

The real treat was when we realised part of the plaster had caved in at some point in the past, and the owners had filled the whole with polyfilla, without even bothering to take the wallpaper off. Paper mixed with filler, lovely.

Three days and many many swear words later, the walls look nice and white and flat.

Never. Again.
