Sunflowers

The teaching garden has been a great experience this summer. I enjoyed the company, I enjoyed not having to manage the garden all by myself, I enjoyed the beautiful location at the John Jay Homestead, and I think I enjoyed the tomatoes the most. I don't think I will ever be able to go back to grocery store tomatoes.

These sunflowers are beautiful, but many are too heavy to support themselves. Bamboo or plastic stakes were not enough. Only rebar would hold up these babies.
