Day 6
Day 6
As much as I am enjoying the cruise, certain things are beginning to bug me ??..
Like the service from a lot of the crew.
The majority of the crew in the service side are Indian and they have an almost aloof attitude and will not give eye contact. They are also very slow in bringing drinks after being so quick to take an order and in clearing plates despite the almost ?overstaffed? levels.
They also get drinks and meals mixed up or forget where the people they have taken an order from are.
This is in complete contrast to the Pilipino crew on the last cruise who were at pains to learn your name and to make you feel welcome and were never seen to leave a dirty dish for more than a few seconds or make a mistake with an order.
I am not sure if this has got to do with the senior crew and their attitude to the passengers.
On this ship you never see ?senior? crew and if you do they are striding past on a mission speaking to nobody??..on the other ship all senior crew - including the Captain made a point of mixing with and talking to passengers. They even took their coffee breaks in the passenger areas so they never seemed to be off-duty or unavailable.
SWMBO and I gave up on the lecture about one of our ports of call because the laptop being used for the slideshow side of things broke down and after 15 minutes they were still unable to even put the disc into the replacement laptop. There seemd to be a complete inability to carry on without the pictures - even though she was reading from a script.
So after that we went to watch a film on the big outside screen.
After 15 minutes they actually switched on the soundtrack. A few minutes later the film was restarted so we could work out what the plot line was.
I think it was a bad idea to go and watch the film really as I got so engrossed in it that I am now sunburnt.
What an erse.
