Home and Away

A little bit closer...

Heading back to the town from the West Sands dog walk this morning, in soft and gauzy light.

You'll likely as not see this view and variations in all its weather moods and get heartily sick of it.

Must go and look at some buildings tomorrow.

Fife Firsts. Day Two of islander culture shock.
1. I can hear a police siren as I type this.
2. There are muffled undergraduate shouts and laughter late into the evening. People walk about the town at night, in numbers, going to restaurants/cafes/coffee shops/pubs.
3. People lock their cars.
4. The vegetable section in the Tesco Metro round the corner is stuffed full of produce. All the time, and not just when the boat's been. There is no boat. (This is especially stunning. Locals were slightly uneasy witnesses to my cries of "salad! dozens of different sorts of salad!" when shopping there yesterday).
5. There are four films on offer AT THE SAME TIME at the Picture House up the road.
