Food Fight

This little sock full of niger seed has created lots of controversies. When the finches and goldfinches fight the finches always chase off the goldfinches. This enterprising goldfinch is slipping in through the basement and doing well with that strategy. Eventually he will be discovered and chased away.

Been feeding the birds for the last several weeks. First oiled sunflower seed was very popular. Next we tried this thistle (niger) seed bag but is just as messy. So when this is gone we will suspend feeding for a while.

On a personal note, after 24 hours the newly implanted lens is doing well and the formerly weaker eye now has sharper vision than the left eye which still has astigmatism. Next week that will be corrected.
