Br Aidan

These are four jubilarians of the St John of God order of brothers who have a special ministry of caring for the mentally ill around the world. They were professed 50 years ago today.
Second from right, in white, is Br Aidan Clohessy who founded and runs the St John of God Services in Mzuzu, Malawi, a first world health service and the only such facility in Malawi.
He has been our friend, mentor and carer for the past 5 years when we are in Malawi. We have a room in his house, where we spend almost half our time nowadays.
His achievement in the past 17 years is truly amazing and on Oct 1 next he opens a new college offering degree courses to Clinical officers, Mental health nurses and in Counselling in association with Mzuzu University, with students coming from many parts of Africa.
