Oh, no,not more marrows!

Our courgettes have turned into marrows. What to do with them? Mr B decided to look up recipes on the internet. I know, he says, Marrow Jam!

Ok I say, give it a try. He spent most of last night chopping up 6lbs of marrows and some ginger and lemons. Now cover with sugar and put in fridge overnight. Well, I don't know about any of you out there, but we don't have some industrial sized fridge.

Boil it for 4 hours!!! That can't be right. After confirming the recipe, slamming of doors and a few sharp words, it was duly boiled for 4 hours.

It didn't set. What to do?

Phone mum. Just put it into jars and bring it up to me and I'll sort it out, she says. I'm not sure that will go down very well with Mr B. So, I've added more lemons and boiled it some more! Strained it (yes, that's what the recipe said)... and wait....it might set...
