The Long and Winding Road

Today Anna and I drove the entire length of Shenandoah National Park's Skyline Drive, which winds through beautiful groves of trees and criss-crosses the Appalachian Trail at several points. The views were impressive, but the road itself was the most fun part. As we cruised along with the windows down and good music on the radio, breathing in the fresh mountain air and munching on trail mix, we passed several people slogging up the hill on bicycles and all I could think was: "Poor schmucks."
