Labor Day Pool Play

My day started off with a nice 8.2 mile run. I'm hoping to get up the mileage so I can complete the half marathon in Stockton in November. I'm really nervous about doing this one--I don't really care how fast I run it. . .but I want to run/jog the whole way without walking. We'll see. . . .

Later in the morning I made a Mexican Layered Dip as we had invited the Anselmo girls over for the afternoon. We used to see them everyday due to school carpooling, etc. but now that we switched schools and they're busy with water polo and my girls are busy with swimming, Lodi water polo and basketball, we don't get to see them much. We had really been missing them (maybe even me as much as the girls) so since we were both free today on this day off from school/practices we were finally able to get together. They arrived around 1:30 and the boys had concocted some belated birthday gifts for Vyckie. Then we decided to head to the pool. They all had fun with the water polo ball and messing around on the diving board. This blip shows all the girls (and Jack) drying off during a break for the lifeguards.

We returned home for some dip and chips and then dropped the Anselmos off on the way to Emily's bible study. A very fun day, but way too short!
