Bearly keeping it together

I had a walk along the shore at Stromness. The wind was gusting to 55mph. I took a couple of photos, but was mainly looking for a couple of common cranes that were supposed to be around. Found them eventually; they were preening and feeding and unloading the occasional container from a ship.

No, that's the other kind of crane. I went into the good little bookshop in Stromness and bought a copy of Iris Murdoch's 'The Sea, The Sea.' I don't normally reread books, but have decided to reread all of Murdoch's works.

Back in Kirkwall, I noticed this young bear looking very lost. Most lost things in Orkney seem to find their way home, so I wouldn't worry over his fate.
