First Soccer Games

This morning marked our boys first EVER soccer games. Liam started at 8 am (with arrival at 7:30 ugh). Then it was Loren's game at 9:15 with Landon closing out the soccer day at 1 PM. We were pleasantly surprised that all three boys teams won their first games!

*Landon's team is called the Dragons.
*Liam's U9 team is called the Sharks.
*Loren's U12 team is called the Flying Thunderbirds.

Starting with Liam's game, we were shocked that on an August morning the wind chilled us to the bone! We were lucky to have had picnic blankets in the car because we had to grab them to cover up. Once it got to Loren's gametime, the chill was a little bit less. Loren really did well considering most of the boys on his team had been playing together for about 6 years. This was his first game of soccer and he was already 11....so we were pleasantly surprised when he scored a goal! Wow! When we ended with Landon's game, we watched the focus or should I say lack of focus of the 4 and 5 year olds. It was amusing. Landon even did a few cartwheels on the field. Needless to say, I didn't expect for him to turn the ball around and head it to the correct goal...which he did and we were so pleased! He didn't quite make it in...it missed by a little bit...but he was understanding the game. Most parents of the youngest kids were expecting for them to make it in the goal of the wrong team, and yes, that did happen today. Such fun!

Gary and the boys dropped me off at home after a full day of soccer and headed to Landon's friend, Cody's, 5th BD party at the bowling alley. They, of course, had a blast celebrating his day! I was sad I missed out, but was really not feeling well :(
