A Holiday View from My Chalet

Holiday Option No 1. Load up car with packed suitcases. Drive to airport. Park car. Unload heavy suitcases. Load them onto airport bus. Travel to airport. Unload heavy suitcases onto trolley. Form an orderly queue for check in. Spend ages waiting behind the one person who has forgotten something important. Pass heavy suitcases to some unknown person. Wait hours for your flight abroad. You know how it goes, and thats assuming that no-one has gone on strike. But well worth it for that week or fortnight of sunshine.

Holiday Option 2. Load suitcases into car. Drive to holiday destination - at your own pace and stop when you want to. This is what I chose this year. Arrived in the Southwest of France to pleasantly warm temperatures (great for a pregnant wife, a fussy five year old and a doting Nana). Unloaded the suitcases into our chalet for the week and just kicked back and enjoyed the view with a nice cold beer. Sheer bliss!! More blips to follow once I've decided which ones to put on here.
