Swanned off
.....it would appear the Black Swan at Sandport Place is no more. Many moons ago, this Leith boozer was the proud exhibitor of many ancient, authentic and valuable brewery mirrors. In '04 it closed, the interior was 'refurbished' and when it reopened after an otherwise sympathetic restoration, the mirrors had gone - great shame. The current incarnation, Roseleaf ('scuse the flower pun) is drawing good reviews, but is clearly aiming itself at the settlers not the natives.
I went for a cycle around Sandport and the Foot of the Walk this afternoon and came across this kilted guy playing with his dog outside. Blokes wearing kilts in Scotland, especially at weddings and sporting events is common enough not to turn heads, but it isn't all that common to see someone wearing a kilt as day wear. I liked his look.
I didn't ask him if I could take his picture and he didn't notice me snapping from across the street, but I do feel a little guilty for bliping him. What's your view on blipping without permission?
