September?

Not a very promising morning, but by 10am there was bright sunshine and a clear blue sky so we set off for a walk round the cliffs. So windy it took your breath away and could hardly stand at the cliff edge! From this you can see the layers of land, sea, land, sea and land again in the distance. That's the joy of islands!

From the comfort of the sitting room, out of the wind, we have been watching the boat dancing on the end of her mooring. There is an ugly little boat, which looks like a pedalo, moored at the end of the slip and it is pitching and tossing and floundering about like a thing possessed. It has a lot of water in it and has already been ashore once, but belongs to folk who don't seem to be bothered. They come over, bale it out, motor about for a while then leave it again! Because of the angle of the windows at the front of it it always looks very cross too!

Ollie and I spent the afternoon in the garden, him resting, me knitting. The man himself was busy cutting up the old boat trailer with the angle grinder, being fortified with coffee and cake at regular intervals!
