Ox Braai(BBQ)

R snr?s School, nicknamed 'Schoemies' (short for General Hendrik Schoeman School) celebrated the new tennis courts, cricket nets and netball fields today! It was a whole day of fun where matches were played, all sorts of fun games were played and it was rounded off with an Ox Braai (Ox on the spit) which was cooking since 04:30 this morning!

I must admit, I was quite sceptical, because I have attended BBQ's where a lamb was cooked in this way, and it was definitely not very successfull, since the meat was not done right through, but, oh my, what a surprise!! The meat was absolutely deliciously done, the maize porridge and tomoto relish with toss salad was super and the fruit salad and ice cream for dessert was só deliciousl, all in all a huge success!!

They had a big screen TV for those who wanted to watch the Springboks lose 41/39 against the Ozzies, and the Blue Bulls win 40/34 against the Sharks, and about 10 bonfires all over the school's rugby fields, for atmosphere, lighting as well as warmth! ;-)

What a lovely day and festive evening all had! Huge success Schoemies!! Thanks for the invite! It was great!
