Yay me!

Grace won her first ever prize for some artwork today: a potato print she did for our local show. She is ever so chuffed with her certificate, but even more so with her 50p prize money!

I entered a bunch of things in the cookery section and also in the photography one. My Mam often used to win the trophy for most points in the cookery section, and this year there is new trophy there for the best exhibit in that section. Lovely way to remember her, isn't it?

Sadly, I can't live up to my Mam's legend in baking, but I did manage to get a few prizes for my photos and ended up sharing the trophy for the most points in that section. I was presented the trophy by my Dad, who is also legend at the show, having won the veg trophy there for all but 3 or 4 of the show's 30+ year lifespan.

Country life, eh? ;))

edit: I should add that Dad didn't win the trophy this year, but was asked to present the trophies to everyone else who had won. He did win two special awards this year: one for best entry in the vegetable section for his ENORMOUS cabbage (will have to get a photo of that sometime before it gets eaten) and also one for best flower in show.
