My ladybird obsession
Since buying a nice macro lens happened to coincide with a veritable plague of ladybirds in our flat, I've had a bit of an obsession with these pretty beetles.
I always used to try and capture their rouged shells in as much lurid detail as possible, preferably offsetting it against a verdant backdrop of some sort.
Recently though I've been trying to subvert that dominant colour. Not sure I picked the right one for today's pic really as I had a lovely washed-out, super-exposed version in black and white which made the ladybird seem almost sketched, but hey ho.
