Giant of the deep
After coming home late (yet again), and a barren day blip wise, Mrs P reminded me of something she spotted when out shopping yesterday, so I decided to try my hand at taking night shots with the tripod this evening by taking a trip down to the Dundee docs.
This is the sight that awaited us.
Apparently its called the Rowan Gorilla VII, just come from Angola and is 550 feet tall, which is higher than the Fourth Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.
It's in Dundee to get its legs chopped off a bit so it can go to the North Sea and start drilling, hence why its jacked up fully. Never normally see any rigs in Dundee jacked up so high, so it's pretty interesting and lots of people around the area are out taking pics.
I think this pic has turned out pretty good, so going to take another visit over the weekend to see if i can do any better, perhaps from across the water in fife.
