The Wave Game

The other day it occurred to me that I hadn't taken my daughter to the beach all summer. I vowed I would do it this week. Today was hot (95C/35C) and sunny, so we decided to take the plunge, so to speak.

Over the summer my daughter has become a much more confident swimmer, and her progress was apparent today. We ended up staying nearly five hours, most of the time spent jumping and swimming in the waves, through the waves, and over the waves. Her complete joy was contagious, yet I felt a tinge of guilt for not having taken her earlier in the summer. My husband's answer was to "go every day this week!" to make up for it :)
