Power Station

Back to the island-this is the transition from the city. :-) This shot is for powerrplanter. This power station a short walk away transfers the high voltage power from Vancouver BC to underwater cable (angling off to the right)to go to Vancouver Island. The lower voltage power lines (to right) are to pump oil into the underwater cables. And they are the reason that we on this little island can tap into them and have lights in the winter and make our well pumps run! The equipment in the left front is temporary - there is some work being done on the cables. That's about as technical as I can get. But it was a nice day after record breaking rains yesterday.!
