Western Scrub-Jay

Aphelocoma californica

This fellow and several of his friends were playing tag among the trees and the boulders on a sloped field and wooded area in Ramona, California. They were moving almost as fast as hummingbirds, so I was fortunate he stopped to rest on the branches.
