May you rest in peace

This morning I got the call I have not wanted to get. My sister called to let us know that her husband of 50 years had passed away. He is no longer in pain.

This is a picture of my sister and Joe 2 years ago when they came to visit us. He enjoyed sitting on the deck with the binoculars in hand, scanning the shore of the lake looking for wild life. He would get so excited when he would see the moose and deer. At night still sitting on the deck with the fire going, he would look up in the sky and when he saw the first 3 stars come out, that would be his time to go to bed. Now, when we see the first 3 stars, we know he will be looking down at us and be saying good night. Good night Joe. May you rest in peace. We will miss you.
