Margarita & Ginger

Margarita & Ginger why this combination??

I used to have a magnificent ginger plant which I faithfully brought in to over-winter - well until last year when that early and extremely cold snap hit us in October and by the time I brought in my non-hardy plants it was too late. The banana tree survived (just) but I thought the ginger died and this spring I bought a margarita plant for the patio and the only pot I had with soil in it was the ginger so being lazy I just made a gap and stuffed the plant in always meaning to remove the ginger root at a later point and a few days ago I noticed a re-growth I'm so pleased that I was lazy and never dug it up months ago - just shows how dismal the weather has been if I've only just noticed it, I can't remember the last time I sat outside. Its not the best of shots but for me its meaningful :)
