collecting autumn gold

A bumble bee busily collecting nectar and pollen from a dahlia flower. I like the tawny colour of the hair on the thorax, particularly richly coloured in beautiful afternoon sunshine. A perfect start to autumn.
I always think of the 1st of September being the the start of a new year. Must be all those years in education.
