From the beginning.

Cotton grass ?

No, I don't really know what it's called, but it's everywhere at the moment !

Shooting into the sun was an issue.
I'm still not used to seeing what I shoot through such a tiny viewfinder, and find that my eye doesn't yet comprehend what it's seeing half the time.
I feel pressured under 'busy' shooting conditions, and I found the brilliance of a low sun in my face .. well, 'busy' !

Solution this time was to bracket exposure.
Happily found that my central exposure is the one that came out best ... don't you love it when coincidence/luck makes it look like you're skilled in some way ?

Dilemma on whether to sin and adjust the contrast post-capture, I confess I did try it.
Yet on reflection, I kind of like the overall softness, and piling on the black stuff just seems to make the image look 'contrived'.

Given the soft nature of the subject, I much prefer the softer tones as-is.
Just LOVE the blurred, half-visible stem in the background :)

Comments on contrast in particular, most welcome (go on, be hard !)

One last note :
Finding that this photraphy 'lark' is getting me out to explore footpaths, fields and the open air so much more frequently.
First time I've ever noticed technology getting me closer to nature .. how ironic !
