The tree

One of the few things that I love about Texas is the storms. We had another one today. One minute it is bright and sunny, the next the wind has picked up, the sky is black and the thunder begins. I have seen some magnificent storms here and although they terrify the dog, I do enjoy them.

This incredibly tall tree stands in our back yard and everytime we have a storm I wonder how it survives. It sways back and forth in the wind and looks like it's about to snap but it never does. It survived Hurricane Ike and I guess many more hurricanes before that. I wonder how long it has been there ?
