Appearances can be deceptive...

At first sight, this looks like an old, quite elegant building in a tree lined street. But look closer - the grass is overgrown and untended, there is a boarded up window. The place is empty, abandoned, unloved.

I've walked past it quite a few times, yet never really seen it. What made me notice it today and start to wonder about its history? It doesn't look like a family house, yet it doesn't really look like offices either - but it doesn't matter now, no-one lives or works here anymore.
