Scoping the waters
I was walking around Clover Point this afternoon and noticed this gentleman sitting on the edge of the bluff looking intently through his scope out into the strait. I thought it was unusual as today was a very foggy day and there were no interesting ships passing by and the mountains on the other side were completely obscured. On my way back to the car I saw him silhouetted against the water and I snapped off a quick picture. I did not want to disturb him and found out later that a large pod of whales had passed through the strait a few days ago and there were reports of dolphins in the area. Both are unusual occurrences. I hope he was able to see some interesting marine life.
