as i mentioned, my brother is moving to california, so this weekend has been devoted to the family spending some time together. this afternoons adventure - blackberry picking. so off we went to our old stomping grounds, the blackberry patch near a condo we briefly lived in when i was little.

unfortunately, most of the patch appeared to have died away, seemingly sprayed with something as they are under power lines. and these japanese beetles seemed to be getting to most of the remaining ones. pesty little buggers. at least we had a nice wander in the woods!
