Ortega River
A 60 percent chance of rain was forecast today and I was determined not to repeat the mistake of yesterday -- faffing about the house instead of getting out while it was still fine.
I headed down to Ortega and the Ortega River. A small park just before the drawbridge on Grand Avenue affords both a good vantage point and parking.
The sky was grey and even greyer over the distant skyline of downtown Jacksonville. I sensed that time was at a premium before the forecasters were proved right.
This shot, looking upstream, shows the heavy clouds over the Ortega River. Five minutes later, the rain came and brought photography to a halt.
