Dream land
Dreams of riches drew people to the Colorado Rockies starting in 1859. From 1859 to the early 1900s various mining districts prospered and eventually declined, often in periods as short as 10 to 20 years. Creede was one such town in the eastern San Juans. Today it is an artist little town nestled below spectacular volcanic cliffs.
These are some of the mining remains in Willow creek canyon above town.
