Summer Poppy

These pretty little flowers are seen growing along the roadsides and by our golf course.

They are seen in land that was recently graded areas after new highway construction. I imagine that the Dept of Transportation requires a certain mix of wildflower seeds as part of the landscaping after road projects.

Have been trying for a couple of weeks to post a nice picture of these beauties. Unfortunately it has been windy, forgot my camera, or had other more unique choices (like yesterday's Hercules Beetle).
