Sunset on Venice Beach

We had a fabulous holiday but it was most definitely not our lucky trip when it came to the hire car. I was so happy to pick up a brand new Chrysler Grand Town and Country as I am thinking of trading in my gas guzzling SUV for one of these instead. Or at least, I was.

On the trip to LA, we got rammed on the freeway by two separate cars as they tried to not hit each other. Then, 3 days later we came to Venice beach. We had a great time and my skateboarding mad 13 year old LOVED hanging out with the hardcore skaters whilst the younger kids splashed in the ocean.

It came to going home, however, and it appeared the brand new hire car had decided to give up the ghost already. Nothing could be done to start it, so we had to hang out for another 3 hours until the hire company could sort out a tow truck to rescue us. The offshot of all this though was that we got to see the sun go down, and I have to say, it was worth every single second of the wait.
