sprawls into the depth
I have never been so grateful for the weekend as I am today. (For those who didn't know - the weekend in Cairo is Friday and Saturday).
Going back to the little alleyways of Cairo was just what I needed. There is still so much to be explored. SK and I have walked certain pathways over and over, and each time, there's a new alley to turn down, a new direction to take. It all sprawls into the depths of the city, and there is such a wonderful sense of adventure, in always seeing something new.
Late tonight, I'm going to go to my first Arabic poetry reading, by an Egyptian poet from the South. His poetry is written in the traditional Southern dialect which is sometimes hard for me to understand, but I'm looking forward to it.
Did I mention that I'm delighted that it's the weekend?
