Early morning dew

Decided on the spur of the moment to get up early today. Having looked out of the window I saw that it had the makings of a beautiful day and so by 6.15 a.m. I was on my way down to the canal on foot.

The beauty, peace and tranquillity of the canal and the surrounding countryside was stunning and the air so fresh. It made me realise that I am looking forward to encountering the first early morning Autumnal mists.

The water levels are still low or non-existent in some places due to repair work on the lock gates. The ducks seem to rather like this arrangement and have been enjoying their newly made paddling pools.

So, after all the shots that I took around the canal, tow-paths, barges and lock gates I ended up choosing this, of all things, taken by the steps of my house.

And the sun shines on....
