BUMS ON SEAT

I liked this shot of about a dozen I took at the old Canterbury Provincial Council Building - It begged the question about the bums that had taken up residence on this plush seat debating the important issues of the Canterbury founding fathers.

The building erected between 1858 and 1865 is a spectacular example of the architect Benjamin Mountford. It has been acknowledged as NZ's finest high Victorian Gothic interior. Blowed if I know - but its a pretty building and well worth a visit ( for those who can?)

Mountford was the brain behind the Canterbury Museum, Canterbury College (now the arts Centre) and the Worcester St Trinity Church and he was the supervisor for the Christchurch Cathedral.
Something to ponder ( maybe) Different than birds anyway ?

rgds pooba.
