NFT 1

Work was work today, but this evening I went to the NFT, on the South Bank to see the first ever screening of Metropolis in its, almost, complete 2 hour state. As it was first screen, in German in 1927, I think it has taken long enough to get here! :-)

NFT screen 1 could do with better padding on the seats! but apart from that it was a great experience. I have seen Metropolis before, but the shorter 90min version. It was great to see it restored and on a big screen.

I may go to see it again at the local cinema, as it goes on general release soon and I doubt the screening will be that full as not many people would go and see a silent, black & white movie, subtitled from German into English!!
