Anchor tavern

An odd day - first of all we had no electricity. This is actually quite a good thing now and then for it makes you appreciate how much we take for granted and how reliant we are on electricity for just about everything - even our water is pumped up from the well. However, it was really nice to finally have a cup of tea at 6 o clock!

I went into Bantry early for I had the idea that there was a sheep fair and blips immediately came to mind - arrived in town, no sign of any sheep. Hmm. What there are though are some amazingly coloured buildings. The pubs in particular are very interesting and this is one of the more restrained but rather striking. I can feel a series coming on. The Anchor is actually a bit of a dive and you'd have to be pretty brave to go in, but it's been around a long time. I like the nautical theme going on in the window.
