Going to market?

Part of our group tour experience was to hire a gang of pedi-cabs to see the Houtong area of Beijing. The pedi-cab ride was a neat way to experience the neighborhood, but the area itself appears to be cleaned up overly much for the tourist eye and I was a trifle disappointed in the lack of authenticity in what we saw.

As we were leaving, I happened to catch this gentleman as he paused in this doorway as we passed by and just barely managed to catch it with my camera. I wonder where he was off to, and why he looked so different to me.
