Sunrise at Steel Rigg

For the third morning in a row I got up at 5am and climbed onto Hadrian's Wall to watch the sunrise - this time the destination was Steel Rigg.

This is really an iconic view of the wall, which rides along the crags and above Crag Lough in the distance. The cliffs form such a good natural barrier that you have have to wonder why the Romans needed a wall here, but they built one anyway.
