A Larger World

Why and how do certain people chose each other? And how come the attraction keeps year after year?

When we were 7 we talked about.... yes, what did we talk about really? At 15 boys were on the agenda, for sure. At 20 it was all about traveling and eduction. At 25 I was married and to be honest, I´m not quite sure what she was up to. When I´d had 3 boys she was still out there. But then, suddenly, she had 3 herself.

Though she lives in another town now, we are still close. Yesterday she was visiting. We talked about our lives, about who we are today. Being with her is as easy and as complicated as listening to a symphony orchestra. The room opens and fills with sound and resonance.

Today she agreed to model for me. I have never really used props before, but with her it was, if not easy, then at least without fear. We were playing.

There was something about what she said yesterday. About her dislike of being defined. Of being told who she was. Of being robbed the chance development.

There was something about the way she seeks a larger world.
